Accountant

The Opportunity

We are looking for a focused and reliable candidate to join our Ukrainian team as an Accountant. You will be supporting the Accounting Manager with ensuring all reporting is completed accurately and in a timely manner, investigating and understanding any variance encountered and concisely reporting this to senior management. This is a great chance to be involved in a fast moving company and become a valuable part of the finance team which spans Ukraine, the UK and the US. You will be reporting to the Accounting Manager who is based in the US and working closely with key stake holders across the US business. 

Role Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly closing entries, ensuring all supporting documentation is accurate and complete.
• Perform 3-way matching of vendor invoices (PO > Goods Receipt > Supplier Invoice); communicate with suppliers to resolve discrepancies and post necessary accounting entries to clear variances.
• Manage accounts payable processes, including payment applications, sending payment confirmations to suppliers, and reconciling vendor balances.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts promptly following month-end close.
• Collaborate closely with the Accounting Manager to identify and implement process improvements.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing and organizing required documentation, coordinating with relevant stakeholders to meet audit deadlines.

Desired Skills 

• Minimum 2 years of accounting experience (experience in Accounts Payable is a strong plus).
• Demonstrated expertise in account reconciliations.
• Strong command of written and spoken English.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and resolve issues collaboratively.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong planning, prioritization, and time management abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (must be skilled in VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and Pivot Tables).
• Experience working with ERP systems and subledgers.
