About the Role
The Head of Audit Support Team (AST) is responsible for leading and developing a team of 15-20 professionals who support the audit process. The role focuses on ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement across definite stages of audit operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Participation in German and European audit projects as a reviewer.
- Oversee and coordinate all audit support activities across multiple audit stages.
Ensure team members are trained, motivated, and performing to established KPIs.
Maintain high quality and compliance standards in audit documentation and reporting.
Collaborate with auditors and other departments to resolve process gaps and issues.
Develop and implement process improvements to optimize audit efficiency.
Support audits end-to-end and ensure consistent communication with stakeholders.
Provide ongoing performance feedback and professional development support for the team.
Monitor progress, track performance metrics, and report results to leadership.
Take part in business development contributing to expanding of the audit services portfolio.
Key Goals and Expectations
Successfully adapt to the role within 3–6 months.
Take full responsibility for managing team output and efficiency.
Ensure consistent, high-quality audit support that meets internal and external requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Experience with leading Audit projects, understanding all Audit stages
- Ability and readiness to do final quality reviews
- Strong communication skills — interaction both with German colleagues and coordination of Ukrainian colleagues
- Strong PM skills
- Ability and readiness to develop the services of Audit Support Team
- More than five years of current and/or recent experience within an international or local professional services firm.
- Solid understanding and experience planning and coordinating the stages to perform audit
- Experience with IFRS and/or US GAAP and international standards on auditing
- Professional accountancy qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, or any other relevant to the audit)
- Fluent English (German will be an advantage but not a must)
- Advanced Excel user
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in shared services or multinational environments.
Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIA) is a plus.
