Senior PHP/Magento Developer

We are seeking a dedicated PHP / Magento Backend Developer to join our team. 
In this role, you will be pivotal in building and improving our Magento-based e-commerce platform. 

What you will be doing: 
- Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable backend functionality for our Magento-based platform; 
- Develop custom Magento modules, extensions, and integrations with third-party systems (payment providers, ERPs, CRMs, etc.); 
- Work with different Magento versions, ensuring smooth migration, support, and compatibility (Magento 1.7 / 1.8 / 2.4);
- Engage in all phases of the software development lifecycle: requirements analysis, technical design, implementation, testing, and deployment; 
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including front-end engineers, project managers, and DevOps engineers to deliver features that meet business and regulatory requirements; 
- Optimize Magento performance (queries, caching, indexes), ensuring high availability, reliability, and scalability of the platform;
- Maintain and improve REST APIs used by internal systems and external partners;
- Ensure code quality through code reviews, unit/integration tests, and adherence to best practices and coding standards;
- Work with DevOps teams to ensure smooth deployment and stable operation of the application across environments. 

A successful candidate will have: 
- 4+ years of commercial development experience;
- Proven experience as a PHP Developer with a strong track record of delivering production solutions;
- Strong proficiency in PHP (OOP) and solid understanding of software design principles (SOLID, clean architecture, MVC);
- Hands-on experience with Magento 2 (custom modules, observers, plugins, dependency injection, event/observer system);
- Experience working with MySQL (schema design, query optimization);
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design and integration patterns;
- Experience with version control systems (Git) and teamwork in a collaborative development environment;
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot and debug complex backend issues 

Will be a plus: 
- Experience with performance optimization of high-load Magento stores (Redis, Varnish, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch); 
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines; 
- Experience working with Docker or containerized environments; 
- Familiarity with AWS or other cloud providers (hosting Magento, RDS/Relational DB, S3, etc.).
