Import Manager

Our client is a well-known trading holding, a large and systematic business, and one of the best employers in the Ukrainian market. This time we are looking for a Manager of the import department.

TASKS:

• Processing requests and needs of businesses for new products and projects of “Own Import”: calculating the cost price, searching for suppliers and manufacturers for new projects, evaluating supplier’s offers, and passing this information to the commercial department for review. Processing commercial requests;
• Interacting with working and new suppliers: negotiating contracts and cooperation conditions, improving commercial conditions, agreeing on prices, and resolving disputed issues (claims). Controlling payment to suppliers, financial monitoring, etc.;
• Calculating and forecasting order volumes, receiving calculations from the commercial department, and sending them to suppliers;
• Placing the first order to suppliers: volume calculation, concept, operational component control, and working with further orders until the project is transferred to the import supply department;
• Conducting efficiency analysis on the assigned projects (turnover and availability) and proposing ways and plans for development;
• Forming marketing budgets for projects based on negotiations with suppliers, controlling payment receipts from suppliers;
• Resolving customs clearance issues with customs brokers (influencing customs duties);
• Assisting the marketing department in preparing materials for brand development;
• Monitoring suppliers and analyzing the product range of local markets, based on which to formulate pricing proposals for the Own Import;
• Supporting marketing projects for the assigned categories: promotions, budgets, interacting with suppliers;
• Participating in the development of rules, instructions, regulations and reporting for the department’s work;
• Preparing reports upon request.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Higher economic education;
• 2+ years of relevant contract work experience;
• Mandatory experience in supplier search;
• Knowledge of import-export documentation and supply conditions of goods according to Incoterms 2020;
• Understanding of the physical capacity of goods in various logistical units;
• Excellent communication and supplier negotiation skills;
• Conversational level of English (B2 level or higher);
• Proficient in MS Office.
