Background
FADV is implementing an emergency humanitarian response program in Ukraine to support affected populations with critical assistance. Reliable data collection and analysis are essential to ensure that the response is evidence-based, accountable, and adapted to the needs of communities.
Position Summary
The Data Collector/Assistant will support the project coordinator in gathering accurate, timely, and relevant information from affected communities and project sites within Odesa oblast. Line manager: Project Coordinator
Key Responsibilities
· Support the Project Coordinator in daily tasks related to the project implementation and organisation;
· Enter, clean, and verify data collected using digital tools (e.g., Kobo, ODK, Excel, or other platforms);
· Support the M&E team in ensuring data quality, consistency, and confidentiality;
· Ensure proper collection of documents related to FADV’s feedback complaints mechanism;
· Ensure systematisation and quality of documents collected (list of participants, supporting documents, pictures of distribution/field activities);
· Ensure accurate and ethical collection of both quantitative and qualitative data in line with organisational and donor requirements;
· Report any challenges, risks, or protection concerns observed during fieldwork to the supervisor;
· Adhere strictly to data protection protocols and safeguarding standards;
· Maintain respectful and professional communication with community members, ensuring informed consent and cultural sensitivity;
Requirements
· Previous experience in data collection, community engagement, or humanitarian fieldwork is desirable.
· Knowledge of digital data collection tools (Kobo, Google Form, tablets, smartphones) is an asset;
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact respectfully with vulnerable populations;
· Attention to detail and accuracy in recording and entering data;
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in challenging and rapidly changing environments
· Commitment to humanitarian principles, data protection, and safeguarding standards;
· Knowledge of English; Italian language is an asset;
· Previous work within AICS projects is an asset.
