Temporary Consultancy - Trainer for Basic Neuro Course

Position Summary

The trainer of the course " Basics of Physical Therapy for Nervous System Disorders" should have the competencies to teach kinesiology, motor control, and intervention methods for spinal cord injuries. It should also teach how to diagnose and intervene in upper and lower motor neuron disorders, and apply skills in motor skills training, evidence-based practice, and principles of motor learning. The training should provide universities with the knowledge and skills to work with neurological patients and strengthen their core clinical practice sites through the training of clinical supervisors from these sites. We propose a temporary consultant contract for the delivery of training modules in the period May 5-9, May 26-30 and July 7-11, July 28 - August 1, 2025.

Expected Duties and Responsibilities 

The Trainer of basic neuro course shall assume the following specific responsibilities for the length of the consultancy:

Task 1: Strengthen the knowledge of the basics of physical therapy for nervous system disorders.

• Learning of examination and intervention based on teaching motor skills after stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury; motor learning, treat upper and lower motor neuron.
• Educating cardiorespiratory training, work with clinical databases, analysis of pathological gait, and preparation for setting patient goals according to the ICF (International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health).

Task 2: Participate in group discussions and mentoring the participants.

• During group discussions, take an active part in mentoring the participants of the training.

Task 3: Document and report the project activities.

• Develop a report outlining training provided.
